Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of carers and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities.
This year’s Carers Week (6-12th June) shone a spotlight on some of the challenges carers face and the various statistics that can be seen amongst people providing care to their loved ones.
The 6.5 million carers in the UK save the economy £119 billion and often their caring duties have an adverse effect on their own health and lifestyles.
